Projects: Notated Music
Wilfrido Terrazas collaborates closely with composers from Mexico and abroad in the creation of new works. Recent collaborations have resulted in the premières of pieces by Ignacio Baca Lobera, Olivia Block, Eduardo Caballero, Samuel Cedillo, Thanos Chrysakis, Georgina Derbez, Edgar Guzmán, Nickos Harizanos, Valeria Jonard, Costas Mantzoros, Iván Naranjo, Hiram Navarrete, Hilda Paredes, Liliana Rodríguez, Mauricio Rodríguez, Germán Romero, Borey Shin and Hebert Vázquez, to name a few. He has also worked personally with many composers in the interpretation of already existing pieces, among them Cecilia Arditto, Carola Bauckholt, Juan Cristóbal Cerrillo, Karheinz Essl, José Manuel López López, Rogelio Sosa, Marcelo Toledo and Christian Wolff.
Wilfrido performs mainly as a soloist and chamber musician. He has participated as an advisor, collaborator and guest flutist with the International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE) in several projects. He has also worked with José Manuel Alcántara, Ludwig Carrasco, José Luis Castillo, Claire Chase, Christophe Desjardins, Álvaro Díaz Rodríguez, Carmina Escobar, Pablo Gómez, Stephanie Griffin, Omar Hernández-Hidalgo, Cory Hills, José Luis Hurtado, Rodrigo Macías, Susan Narucki, David Núñez, Natalia Pérez Turner, David Smeyers, Juan Trigos, Orquesta de Cámara de Ensenada, Orquesta Sinfónica Mexiquense and Ensamble Süden, among many other artists.

An active member of the Mexican free improv and experimental music scene, Wilfrido has collaborated with many musicians in the field, such as Susan Alcorn, Josué Amador, Gibrán Andrade, Gabriela Areal, Javier Areal Vélez, Ignacio Baca Lobera, Jen Baker, Darío Bernal, Ramón del Buey, Nicolas Caloia, Angélica Castelló, Vincent Chancey, Andrew Drury, Jorge Espinal, Flandrew Fleisenberg, Agustín Genoud, Stephanie Griffin, Vinny Golia, Ig Henneman, Andy Hayleck, Katt Hernandez, James Ilgenfritz, Anne La Berge, Yair López, Misha Marks, Adnán Márquez-Borbón, Wade Matthews, Roscoe Mitchell, Abdul Moimême, Andrew Munsey, Shoko Nagai, Mary Oliver, Natalia Pérez Turner, Tom Rainey, Stephanie Richards, Jane Rigler, David Sánchez, Carlos Sandoval, Carlos Santos, Burkhard Stangl, Leo Svirsky, Stomu Takeishi, Chuck Ver Straeten, Jennifer Walshe and Peter Zummo.
He is a founding member of the Mexican improvisation project Generación Espontánea.
Wilfrido is also interested in working with musicians from other traditions, such as creative music, jazz and rock. Among others, he has collaborated with Karl Berger, Todd Clouser, Marc Ducret, Dennis González, Ratzo Harris, Makoto Kawabata, Angelika Niescier, Ingrid Sertso, La Sonrisa Vertical, Harvey Sorgen and Turbina.

Wilfrido collaborates with artists from most disciplines. He has ongoing projects with poets Nuria Manzur and Ronnie Yates. He has also collaborated with Luis Arreguín, Jane Benson, Asimina Chremos, Julia Färber Data, Esther Gámez, Benito González, Max Kazemzadeh, Daniel Kötter and Alejandra Pombo Suárez, among many others.
